Launching & Retrieving Tips

New to boating or just want to refresh your skills - check out our Launching tips video.

Remember to ensure:

1.   Bow line is attached.

2. Transom Straps and Prop Flag are removed

3. Lanyard is engaged

4. Battery switch is on

5. Bungs are installed

6.    Reverse down ramp & check water depth and ramp length

7.    Remove safety chain & winch strap, slowly release off trailer

Starting Motor

1.    Ensure the gearbox has enough water surrounding it – NOTE the water indicator (tell tail) will be spouting water out of the starboard side of the outboard.

2.    Prime fuel primer bulb.

3.    Lift up cold start lever (throttle only lever)

4.    Push and hold key in while turning to start,  once started lower cold start lever and operate gearshift as needed.

 

Finishing your trip

1.    Tilt outboard when you are coming into shallow areas, so you don’t ground the boat, or engine. (check water is still coming from tell tail)

2.    Turn motor off completely and wind up onto trailer, attach safety chain.

3.    Remove bungs when boat is on trailer and secured at front.

4.    Reinstall transom straps and prop flag.

5.    Turn battery switches off to save the battery power.
